closed caption support?

I purchased the hauppauge 350 specificially because I wanted to capture TV programs with closed captions. This works fine and I can write them to DVD using DVD movie factory and play them on my television with captioning. However when I try to edit the video (cut out the commercials) which is super easy in movie factory I lose the captions. Any help would be appreciated.

Your talking about capturing the Line 21 code. I'll let the following webpage explain. I don't understand. It's not simple.
