I wouldn't think that a raw converter would benefit that much from being 64 bit unless you're shooting with a medium format digital camera.

It's hard to tell, since I haven't done any testing between those two versions (nor will I). I use the DCB demosaicing algorithm which is one of the slowest, and I also apply a whole ton of adjustments which can be quite processor-intensive. If there's the slightest possibility that the processing will benefit from using all the RAM installed and a 64-bit instruction set, then I want that benefit....

Actually it's not difficult to tell. If your CPU use maxes out but you don't use more than 4gb of RAM to do so then going 64 bit isn't going to give you anything except plug-in incompatibilities. Being that you're not working with a ton of layers or super huge files (yet) you likely don't use that much RAM to max out your CPU. However things may change and being already in the 64 bit game is definitely a good thing for the future.
