I recently bought a Canon XA20. I'm recording 1920x1080p, as MPEG-4, at 24 fps (23.98fps) at 24 Mbps.
When I finish editing a file and I want to save the result as an MPEG-4, Corel VSProX6 only wants to save it as 30 fps, 15000 Kbps. Why can't I save it at the framerate and bitrate I started with? Where are these parameters set?
Thanks in advance.

Re: MPEG-4 settings for Corel VSProX6
Hi
From Share Create Video File there is an option to Save as First Video Clip.
This option is not available for all types of video, but if it is available for you then it will use the properties of your video file to create the new file.
Video Studio can be a little limited in the templates you can create, I know some that I feel are popular and used by many, yet VS cannot create them.
Usually there is other options that you can use, 24fps does limit the choice.
Create your own templates……….
From Settings- Make Movie Template Manager – New
File Format MPEG4
Give the template a name, ok
Compression Tab – Video Type H264 High
General tab – Frame rate 23.9
Frame Size 1920 x 1080
Back to Compression tab
Data Rate 20000kbps (max allowed by manager)
You are best setting the Data Rate last
General Tab Frame Type (interlaced option) should be same as your original video, either Upper Field or Frame Based (Progressive)
----------------------------
From Settings Make Movie Templates Manager there is an option to Add, this allows you to browse for your video, if it allows this then a template will be created using your video files properties.
All templates are available via Share Create Video File –bottom of list?
Hope this helps
