Failed to record data to the disc

I am new to the home video scene. I have captured a home movie onto the VS8 program. After the stage of finalizing the VOB instead of writing the DVD, I get the following message:

Failed to record data to the disc
Error DVDR-INC-SPTI-2A-02-05-30-05

My DVD drive is an NEC_RW ND-1300A with driver 5.1.2535.0

Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance.

Are you running V8.00 or V8.01? The V8.01 patch includes updates to the disk burning engine that may be relevant.
