Am currently working with New Blue to resolve the fact the some New Blue Packages will not install into VSX7 32 bit.
Essentials Packages 3, 4 5 & 6 do install correctly, except that all the thumbnails are black, however, the filters are fully functional
Essentials Package 1
Most of this package are preinstalled with VSX7, but the Detail Enhancer filter is not and needs to be installed separately, whilst it shows as being installed in C:ProgramFiles(X86)/Corel/CorelVideoStudioUltimateX7/vft_plug it does not appear in the FX library of VSX7.
Essentials Package 2
The only filter that shows in the FX library is New Blue PiP which again was preinstalled with VSX7. The other 9, whilst showing as correctly installed, do not appear in the FX library.
New Blue Stabilizer
Again showing as installed correctly but not showing in FX library
New Blue Colorfast
My owned full version does not appear to have installed, the version in the FX library contains an image so I suspect that is the preinstalled version.
New Blue Film Effects
Installed correctly but appear in the FX library with black thumbnails, the filters are fully functional
Note.
One thing I tried was to rename the 17.0 folder and let VSX7 create a new one, when VSX7 was opened, all my owned New Blue Filters had disappeared, so I reinstated the original 17.0 folder and they all came back
I am of the opinion that there is a conflict with New Blue and VX7, because all the filters are correctly installed in VSX6 and have images in the thumbnails
So has anyone else tried to install New Blue into VSX7 32 bit and what results were obtained
Robert
Anyone tried to install Owned New Blue into VSX7

Re: Anyone tried to install Owned New Blue into VSX7
I don't currently have X7 32 bit installed, but am thinking of uninstalling 64 bit and installing the 32 bit version, largely because, like you, I own NB Essentials packages 1 - 6. I am interested, though, in how you went about installing your own stand-alone packages. Did they automatically "see" X7, or did you, during the installation process, add the X7 path to their set-up routine?
I realise also you said that they appear in the proper place in the X7 folders but not in the opened program. Have you ever tried simply transferring the relevant files from X6 folders to X7 then doing the delete 17.0 routine?

Re: Anyone tried to install Owned New Blue into VSX7
Hi Ken,
Whilst I do not have VSX6 currently installed, I had copied the vft_plug folder and some other folders and stored them on a portable drive before removing VSX6.
Copying and pasting the files into VSX7 was the first thing I tried, and whilst all the packages were shown as being installed in VSX7, none appeared in the fx library when VSX7 was opened.
The next thing I tried was to reinstall the New Blue Packages, the installer did not see VSX7 so I added the path to the direct it to VSX7, installation failed to add the packages to the vft_plug folder.
I then contacted New Blue, they suggested that I open the New Blue folder C:programFiles(x86)/NewBlue, then open each package in turn, open the Ulead folder and copy and paste the .vft files into vft_plug of VSX7.
The success/failure of that method was as indicated above.
I am strongly of the opinion that there is a conflict between New Blue and VSX7, because when I tried to force a rebuild by renaming the 17.0 folder, none of the added packages appeared in the fx library, only by reinstating the original 17.0 folder did the packages appear again, plus the fact that all the added filters have black thumbnails, whereas in VSX6 they did contain images.
So at the moment I am waiting for further advice from New Blue, although it could well be a Corel problem to resolve.

Re: Anyone tried to install Owned New Blue into VSX7
Finally have all packages installed and showing in the fx library, 6 attempts at forcing VSX7 to rebuild by renaming Folder 17.0 did not work, on the 7th attempt success, albeit all with black thumbnails they are fully functional.
New Blue support did admit that they had not actually tested any packages with VSX7 and confirmed that they are still working on 64 bit versions, also stating that any adjustments to the 32 bit version would be made at the same time.
I do believe that there is some form of conflict, which no doubt will eventually be resolved.

Re: Anyone tried to install Owned New Blue into VSX7
Interesting, though they clearly have adapted at least some of their filters from various of their packages to both 64 bit and X7. And as I've said in other threads, all their packages work in 64 bit versions of Cyberlink PowerDirector and Sony Movie Studio Platinum...

64 bit also work with Premiere Elements 11 & 12.
Well, that's it, I'm not messing around with VSX7 anymore, everything works as it should, not touching it again until 64 bit installers are available and I can install VSX7 64 bit. It's time to actually start using the program and reduce the backlog of projects I have in hand.
