Best old version?

Post by chrishargrave »

Hi
I have VS X4 (ultimate) which precludes me from upgrading to X7.
As usual there seem to be lots of problems/complaints about X7 so I am thinking of buying X5 or 6. Aside from any 'improvements' is one version better than the other....

You are not precluded from upgrading from X4 to X7 you can do it if you wish - just not at a reduced price you will have to pay full retail price.

you will have a problem upgrading at a reduced price from X4 to X5 or X6 - because only Corel offer the reduced price upgrade - but they no longer offer either X5 or X6 for sale at upgrade or full price.

If not for the improvements in each version then what in your mind would make one "better" than the other - it is only the improvements which make later versions better than previous.

Thanks Brian
Agree I could just buy the full version - literally meant the upgrade version.
I think sometimes when a new version has come out the opinion has been that the previous version worked better - so I guess what I really am asking is do x5 & x6 both work well.

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris

Yes I found X5 and X6 quite stable, I would opt for X6 then you will qualify for the cheaper upgrade to X8, if you wish to do that in the future.

If you are working with High Definition then the latest versions would be better as that’s the way the program is going, improvements in HD editing.

Give X7 a free trial just to see the difference
