Is there a startup switch for edit mode with no database

Post by roberts-end »

Hi
PSP X6 16.2.0.2
Like many users I have problems with slow startup because of large number of pictures in the various collections. I would like a quick way to skip the Manage/Adjust workspaces and start the program to edit a single file. I have found the settings to start in edit mode, but I still suffer the slow startup. I want something I can add to the context menu in Windows Explorer so that the program start quickly like older versions did.

If that is not possible, is it possible to have different settings for 64 and 32 bit runtimes so I can set my 32 bit version to start quickly and exclude all photos from the database, and retain the 64 bit install for when I want to manage my full photo library?

Thanks

Not really. The best I have found is to add c:\ to the list of folders to exclude from the catalog (File->Preferences->Manage->Uncataloged folders) and then reset the database via File->Preferences->Reset->Delete cache. It means you dont get any of the database features, but at least the program start better. I was rather hoping to get the best of both worlds. :(
