Icons and Thumbnails

Post by Muriel »

My PSPX6 (running on Windows 8.1) images view as the camera icon, and no matter what I do, I cannot make them appear as thumbnails. Unclicking the 'View as icons, never thumbnails', was an exercise in futility. Version X4 images appear as thumbnails.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Or even a possible solution?

Many thanks,
Muriel!

Well, Good Evening!

I have only the 32bit version of X6 installed because there were massive issues with making the plugins work in the 64-bit.

On another computer there are both versions of X6, as well as X4. I discovered that if I open an image in the 64-bit version, and save it again as a pspimage, it presents as a thumbnail rather than an icon. But I would have to do that with about a kazillion images!

I wonder if I can install the 64-bit version on this computer without traumatizing the 32-bit version already installed..

On me shattered nerves! M'thinks it is time for a stiff drink and a half hour with my favourite British soap opera. My brain is turning to Cream of Wheat here..

On a 64 bit Windows computer, like you've got-- and I've got too!! -- you can install both the 32 and 64 bit versions of PSP, though you can only open one at a time.

Well, Good Afternoon!

Ken Berry, I had been thinking along those lines for a few days, but hesitated to do the uninstall/reinstall routine, just in case it unearthed an additional glitch or two! This morning I bit the bullet and reinstalled the program using both versions and BINGO! All I need is to have the 64-bit version sitting peacefully on my computer, and every icon was immediately and magicaly replaced by a thumbnail! Diabolical, that is what it is!

Many thanks for giving me just the little kick I needed to do that!
