Thanks for all your suggestions and assistance. I was able to get the missing files from Corel tech support.

OK Trevor -- here you go. And yes, I too found it strange that those extra files were not installed initially.

Re: How do I add templates to FastFlick
I purchased FastFlick then I bought a new template called "happy birthdays". When I tried to load it, I could not activate it. I unzipped it but nothing happened. How do I make this work?

Re: How do I add templates to FastFlick
Unfortunately very few people on here use FastFlick - or do not post on here.
I have fastflick because like most other people on here it came as an add-on to VideoStudio
although I do not use it I have had a look around on my computer and have found the instant project files for fastflick located at
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X8\EditingStyle\InstantProject
now if you have the stand alone version it may well not be located in a VideoStudio folder so you may have to do a search using Windows file explorer to find a folder called 'Instant Project' containing sub-folders from T-01 to T-10 and a few 'V' folders
I would GUESS that you would have to put a new folder in there containing your new project files - but having searched all the Corel information pages I know I can not find anything about installing instant projects any where
my only other suggestion is that you visit the Corel help and support facebook page - which unlike these forums - are staffed by corel employees and see if they can help - find that facebook page here :- https://www.facebook.com/corelsupportlearning?fref=ts
