When viewing CR2 images from either a 40D or a 7D (both Canon, for those not familiar), ASP shows me the preview images from the raw files while scanning their directory, but then replaces them with a black rectangle when producing its own preview, as well as when viewing the image itself.
Thanks to a recent post titled Black squares, I tested the hardware acceleration settings: the problem appears with a setting of Standard or High OpenCL Utilisation. It goes away if I set it to Low or Minimum, or disable OpenCL altogether.
The environment for this is an AMD/ATI FirePro V graphics card, driven by Ubuntu 13.10 (all updates have been installed). The Linux kernel version is 3.11.0-18-generic, and I'm using ASP version 1.2.0.7 (latest currently available).
I'm posting this mainly to share what I've found with anybody else who strikes the same problem, but also in the hope that Corel staff trawl this forum for bug reports.
