Hello all -
I recently downloaded a trial version of VS X7... I am finding unusual, random symbols in my DVD menus (SmartScene - I have not tried others yet). They do not appear when creating the menu but do in the preview and final copy.
They appear as jagged lines or little circles of off colors and are very distracting when viewing the menu.
How can I rid these? I would really like to know before or if I purchase.

Re: Strange symbols/artifacts in DVD menu
can you post some screen grabs of the problem, marking out what you can see if it's not easily identifiable.
What language are you using?
What font are you using?
I've not seen anything untoward when using it.

Re: Strange symbols/artifacts in DVD menu
I *think* what you are referring to are the highlight button indicators - can you go back to the second screen in the Create disc module - the one I have shown in my image below - and check and uncheck the box I have circled - do the marks you are talking about come and go as you do that ?
If yes then they are simply little markers to show which button is selected - all menus have some sort of indicator to show which button is selected some are lines some are circles some are triangles or swirls or butterflies.
It is perhaps not relevant to your menu as you only appear to have one item on the menu - but if you had a number of titles or chapters you would need to know which one you were selecting to play - but as you do have only one that is obviously the selected one
bottom line is you cannot remove it - just select a different menu with an indicator that does not annoy and change it to suit your needs - you can completely customise all menus changing background image, music and position of items on screen - but not that indicator.
Personally when I only have one title on a DVD I never bother with a menu - it's not necessary - just start your video with a suitable title arrangement
