Hi there,
First time on here for me. I am a newbie.
I have a Sony DV 109E cam, mini DV and have just bought Videostudio 8 due to the reviews being great. I have a problem, when I captuire direct form the sony to my PC i get a slowing down of the footage, a slight stopping and starting effect which only lasts for 2/3 seconds before carry on as per normal. I t happens all the time. Can you please let me know why this is so? Look forward to hearing your learned reply.
Kindest regards,
Martin

I imagine this could happen if your computer wasn't fast enough. Or possibly your computer IS fast enough to capture .AVI but you're capturing in .MPEG format.
Lots of possibilities. Sorry I couldn't be too learned. Give us some more information, like exact settings when you capture, etc., and a brief description of your computer setup.

magicdudey,
If you're referring to the video you see during the capture process, the jerkiness is normal. If you're referring to video that you're viewing post-captured, then that's not normal. But you'll need to post your computer/camera setup, e.g., are you using a firewire or USB connection, PC OS, RAM, harddrive, etc., as well as your VS settings.
