Windows 8.1 Failure Paintshop Pro X6

Post by jornada420 »

I am using Surface pro. Windows 8.1 up to date with all updates. PS Pro X6 has been running great until lately. PS Pro X6update through SP 2. Now app loads, and spins continually, consuming 10 -13 % CPU and never allows me to open my picture folder. Suspect some Windows 8 update??

I don't have a Surface Pro but my understanding is that it runs the full version of Win 8.1. I have 8.1 Pro 64 bit which just updated itself this morning. I also have PSP X6 in both 64 bit and 32 bit versions, with SP2 installed. As of a minute ago, both appear to open and operate just fine...

Have you tried resetting PSP to its default settings, or running it as Administrator? Neither should be necessary, I know, but could be worth trying...

Thanks for your reply. By the time I got back to this forum to read your suggestion I had given up. I uninstalled from my Surface Pro and installed Pro X6 on a Windows 7 machine.

Thanks again.
