++ Khmer and Lao language subtitle ++

Post by voraorn »

Corel videostudio pro x....... does it support Khmer and Lao charector?

I copy and paste in subtitle editor, it can show Khmer and Loa charactor in time frame,
but on video it show "?????????????????????".

What can I do?

I don't have this problem with Thai charector.

Reply from Corel customer support.

Khmer and Lao fonts are not supported by the program.

Kindly try this workaround:

1.) You will need to use a third-party application that supports the Khmer and Lao fonts (e.g. Microsoft Office 2010);
2.) Capture the Arabic text as graphic image (e.g. Print Screen to create screen shot and paste it on MSPaint);
3.) Export the graphic image to a high-quality raster graphics format (e.g. PNG, TIFF, TGA, etc.)
4.) Insert the exported graphics image file in VideoStudio Pro and use Chroma Key effect to extract the text from that image.

I assume that 'Arabic' in 2 was a typo and should have read 'Khmer and Lao'... I seem to remember a similar response when someone asked about inserting Arabic characters! :roll:

I did subtitle in SubtitleWorkshop and convert to image subtitle in MaestroSBT, the problem is I can't use title effect same English version that I did it before.

One thing I don't understand, the subtitle editor can show Khmer on time frame but can't show on review
