VS X7 stops working - Customise Motion

Hi Guys

Video Studio crashes after applying Customised Motion.
Video Clip MTS from Pana 900 camcorder, 24 second clip.

Right click and Customise Motion simply added a keyframe about halfway set the size to 200% to new keyframe and copied to all to right.
Returned to project to play in project playback, program crashes.
I can playback in clip mode but the effect does not show.

Can anyone replicate this problem?

Could not find any mts videos (must be on an external hard drive) but testing with MPEG4 H264, I added a keyframe about halfway, set the size to 200% and copied to all to right.Returned to project and the clip played in project playback without crashing, in clip mode the effect does not show.
Will try to find some mts clips to also test

thanks for trying Custom Motion.

I have used my wife's laptop with the same results, VS crashes, also used Mov - Mpeg4 Visual, created with VS and still I get crashes.
Samples from the library Wmv seem ok.

By the way the Copy and Paste to the right is not relevant to cause this crash, simply increasing the size causes the crash.
It maybe that any changes will do that, not been there as yet.
Just done that and any changes to the panel causes VS to crash?

I would like to confirm that it is not just my setup before reporting to Corel

following your procedure with an .mts file works perfectly - no problems - no crashes.

I've just tried it too, and I am afraid I also cannot replicate the crash. I tried a couple of times with different videos...

Thanks Brian for testing that, I am still having problems, even with 50 progressive type.
As mentioned I can also replicate the crash with another pc, the laptop so still no wiser to fixing the issue?

I doubt that your video is any different being the same type of camera, with that in mind I used your samples and still have a problem.

Hi Ken

Brian send some samples last year when I was looking to upgrade to HD, its those I used.
I have tried both 50P and 25interlaced varieties, I get crashes on both my desktop and laptop.
I have only used the laptop once to test this problem otherwise its a clean install.

I did upload some samples from my HD camera to the server ftp://twcfs.corel.com/
They are in a folder called Lata Samples, adjacent to the Martinborough folder, 4 mts

I was about to re-install the program using 32 bit to see if that causes problems when I was your post.

Anyway thanks for pursuing this issue.............

Brian -- just saw your post and also now see that the sample has arrived. I've downloaded it and will test it in a little while.

Trevor -- I'll also download some of your stuff from the FTP site.

EDIT: I've now tested all three in my X7 64 bit, and had no trouble at all with any of them...

As an aside, I am happy to have these samples from this type of camera...! Makes me wonder about getting one myself... though I have too many cameras already!!

I accessed my BT server to download the video file, uploading via Microsoft Outlook “send and receive” did not seem to be doing anything. Will try that again.
Download was slow taking 20 mins ish

There are also a number of my videos on the ftp server - located in "USA2012.zip" - it's about 240MB = took me about 5 minutes to download - but I am on a fast fibre optic connection.


Trevor - I always access all my btinternet mail by going via www.bt.com then click on 'e-mail' in the top right corner then sign in - that way not only can you access your own e-mail on any computer anywhere in the world, but all attachments just download with the e-mail, Back in the days I was at work I learnt to hate Outlook with a vengeance and refuse to use it for anything.

I have re-installed X7 using 32 bit version, so far no crashes.

Just to note:-

All VSP's open without problems although I would like to check some of the filters I applied, but think they will be ok.
I exported libraries from the 64 bit version these Imported ok to newly installed program.
