Nikon D5300 RAW Processing?

I currently own Paintshop Pro X6 and was wondering if Aftershot Pro will do a better job of converting NEF (RAW) photos taken with my Nikon D5300. The D5300 was just added to X6 list with SP2 but all I see on the Aftershot Pro list is D5300's predecessor, the D5200. Any hep is sincerely appreciated.

The current AfterShot Pro does not (yet) support Nikon D5300 NEF.
Someone in the AfterShot Pro forum said somewhere in that forum I can find a hack which will allow me to fool AfterShotPro into thinking my NEF RAW images were taken with a D5100, and thus that it can dematrix them. That's not ideal (neither is PSP X6's RAW conversion/processing of my NEF images).
How do people using PSP x6 only convert NEF RAW image files? I'd like to just use PSP x6 for total workflow rather than purchase Lightroom 5. As my wife thinks I spend much time on photos now, I don't plan to spend much time on each RAW image. JPEG is what I upload to flicker and facebook. I'd like to get workflow down to 3-4 steps total usually. Any advice or opinions is appreciated.
