What causes clips to be greyed out in overlay track

Post by jparnold »

Using X6 I find that when I add an image (.jpg) OR a video clip to the overlay track it is displayed greyed out on the overlay track and when I 'play' the project the over image or video clip is not displayed in the preview window.
I have only just started to use VS6 and never experienced this 'problem' using VS4.
Is there a setting somewhere I need to know about?

Is the whole overlay track also slightly cross hatched John ? - see image below

If so it sounds as though you have accidentely disabled the overlay track - click on the the film reels at the left end of the track where I have indicated - see if that cures it.
click the image to enlarge it

Ahhh!
Good one Brian. Yes I must have accidentally disabled it possibly when I was clicking on enable/disable ripple editing for the overlay track.
Something else I have learned.
Thanks
