Video Preview Window

Post by geeves »

Hi, I had a question.
Everytime I try to put in a title or overlay I can never tell where the edge of the screen is. Is there anyway to make this visible? Am I missing something?

Also, I've been going crazy trying to figure out how to align titles in the center of my video. So far I've just been turning on the gridlines and approximating it to be about center, which is nerve-wracking. Is there a better way?

I'm not really sure what you mean... The edge of the screen is obviously the edge of the screen, right and left. But do you really mean the edge of the title or overlay? Or are you talking about being able to see the edge of a dark overlay/title against the black background of the preview screen? If the latter, then you could always change the background from black to another colour in Preferences > General. And no, that colour won't come out in any rendered video.
VS Centre.jpg
As for centering a title or anything else, when you insert either an overlay or title, it is automatically placed in the very centre of screen, so just leave it where it is placed: again see my attached photo with both a title and an overlay automatically centred. If you move things around on screen and want them back in the centre, you use the controls which RobertOZ has mentioned.
