unable to log in from a PC other than my own
On trying to reply to an emailed post to my inbox today whilst at another PC (not my own), after several attempts to log on I was told the number of attempts had been exceeded.I then requested an email containing my password, the instant response message (not an email) told me the account was already activated. So how do I overcome this problem.

You are talking about an e-mail - but then talk of logging in - do you mean to your Corel account or to your e-mail account ?
Assuming that you mean your Corel forum account then you did NOT click on "I forgot my password" - you clicked on "Resend Activation e-mail" which is just underneath it - be careful where you click.
be aware that if you had clicked on "I forgot my password" you would have received an e-mail with a new password - not a reminder of your existing one - so if you do do that then make sure you note your new password as you will need that to log-in from your own computer as well.
You should be able to log-in from any computer providing you use your correct username and password - without seeing what you entered it is difficult to say why it did not work for you

Re: unable to log in from a PC other than my own
I was notified by email from contactcorelwebboard@gmail.com about a reply I had received from a post I had been watching. I viewed this on another PC which was not mine .I clicked on the link to view the latest topic and was then asked to log on. I then entered my user name and password a few times because it was not accepted .I was trying to log on to this forum in order to reply to the post .I intended to click “I forgot my password” perhaps I clicked on the wrong item to get the “already activated” message.
So is the answer, if this happens again, to ask for a new password and go from there?

Well that's certainly one option - but it does not explain why you could not log in in the first place.
I regularly log in on computers which are not mine with no problems at all - Providing you enter your username - Kenneth Veal - and the correct password you should be able to log in from any computer.

Re: unable to log in from a PC other than my own
Hi Kenneth
I agree with Brian that you should be able to log-in to the forum from any computer provided you use the correct user name and password.
I would only ask for a new password when you are sure you have forgotten the original.
Using your pc do you have to login or does it do it for you, automatically logging in.?
Usually I don’t have to login unless I run a full clean of my computer which clears the password cache.

Re: unable to log in from a PC other than my own
I am auto logged in from my own PC.As I am not able to attempt any more log ins when using other PCs, it seems I have no option but to sent a new password and then I could use that as my current password in Control panel-edit account settings-confirm-submit.I would do this to change to a more memorable password and shorten my current user name to Ken instead of Kenneth.

The block on retrying log ins is not permanent - I forget the actual delay time before you can log in again but it's something like an hour or so.
You cannot change your username - you need one of us to do that for you

Re: unable to log in from a PC other than my own
Hi Kenneth
As you use auto logins it is possible that you have input the wrong password on the other pc, so it would be wise to change that to a more memorable one.
If you have problems e-mail us at contactcorelwebboard@gmail.com
We can change both so tell us what user name you wish to change to and we will do that for you. If you want us to change the password then tell us what you want.
Again send details to contactcorelwebboard@gmail.com
Do not post the details on the forum.
All the best
