This is the screenshot of the file.

Where do I find the Make Movie Templates Manager?

I tried converting the mov file into mepg-2 one, the quality is just too bad. Any recommended converter which will not compress the files too much? In this case, the file is compressed to 1/10th of its original size.

You provided an image of your save options in an earlier post, do the same for your Video Files.

With the video file in the timeline, right click and choose properties, what are they?

You mention Mov, most likely will be Frame Based (Progressive)

If your DVD uses Interlacing (Upper Field) then that may be the problem you are having, if the originals are frame Based.

Use Make Movie Templates Manager to create a New template using :-
You should use this template to burn a standard DVD.

MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
Frame-based
(DVD-PAL), 16:9
Video data rate: 8000 kbps
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)

If you wish to burn a AVCHD or Bluray then we do need to know the properties of your original video file. Otherwise Share Create Video File Avchd will convert your Mov to Mts suitable to burning a HD disc.
We asked earlier if you had a bluray Player connected to your pc, if not it is pointless creating a HD Disc.
Found the Make Movie Template Manager. Do I need to convert the MOV into mepg-2 files first before I start the sharing?

Hi

To burn a standard DVD you need to use a mpeg2 type video.
You can convert your Mov to Mpeg2 using Share Create Video File, using the template you make in make Movie Templates Manager.

MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
Frame-based
(DVD-PAL), 16:9
Video data rate: 8000 kbps (constant)
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)

The new template will be available from Share Create video File -- adjacent to the Custom option.

Once you have created the new video file (Mpeg2) play the file to check quality, there will be a definite reduction from the original HD video.

To burn a disc
Open Video Studio-New Project – Nothing in the timeline
Share Create Disc – DVD
From the first window Import Media – Import Video File, icons top left.
Browse for your new Mpeg2 and insert to timeline.
From the Cogwheel (project settings) lower left—make sure Do Not Convert Compliant Mpeg2 IS selected (there is a tick in the box)

Create your menu and burn a disc.

Exactly how are you going to be viewing the final video? You mentioned something about using a projector in earlier post. Could you please explain with more details.

Thanks for your help. Yes, unfortunately every time I convert the files into mepg-2 the quality reduced so much I cannot burn a DVD like that. Most of my films have subtitles and the on the compressed files, you sometimes can't even read the subtitle. I am refraining to burn a Blu Ray since they are much more expensive and I thought there were enough space on the current DVD sizes to allow them.

I only view films from a projector which is connected to both blu ray player and DVD player. I can play those files connect the projector to my laptop but I am burning the discs to share with my friends. I won't want to have them view the films on a much lesser quality.

Hi

I did ask if you had a Bluray Player connected to your TV, if yes then you can burn a Hybrid disc.

This uses the Standard DVD 4.3 Gb disc yet burns 1920 x 1080 HD video.

You would probably have to convert your video Share Create video File AVCHD make sure that file size is lower than 4.3 Gb to fit to a disc. (20 to 30 minutes per disc)
Using that video play to check quality.

Then from a new project, an empty timeline Share Create Disc AVCHD- add Media adding your mew video file.

You will need a Bluray Player to play these discs
