I am having issues with Customize Motion in both VSX6 and VSX7 64 bit.
Place clip in timeline and clip in PiP track, right click on Pip track and select Customize Motion, Customize Motion dialog box opens and I unlock the aspect ratio.
1. I then try to resize the clip by dragging the yellow handles, but the arrow remains single and does not change to a double arrow to allow dragging, the arrow for the bottom three handles changes to the 4 arrow head, which only allows the clip to be moved.
2. when the arrow is placed on the circular handles at each corner,( rotation handles I think) again there is no response so I cannot rotate the clip.
3. Again with the 4 green distort handles ( here I believe a black dot should appear in the green handle to allow dragging) but no response.
4. Cannot change the border colour, the colour picker does not appear when clicked on
5. When the motion path has been set it should be possible to change the paths from a straight line to curved lines, however I do not get the grab hand to enable curving the line, the cursor still remains an arrow.
6. Once a motion path has been set, I thought it was possible to change the path by dragging on the handles created in the path but again, not possible
7. I also have the same issue with Motion Tracking where I cannot change the clip size by dragging the yellow handles
Both Customized Motion and Motion Tracking have worked correctly in the past(its been a long while since trying) and both X6 and X7 have been uninstalled/reinstalled
The fact that both VSX6 and VSX7 are having the same issue is of concern, so is it possible I am doing something wrong.
Robert

Re: Customize Motion - Major Issues
Something not right with your system somewhere Robert - all works well for me in both X6 and X7 - see below
Green dots - cursor changes to black square - can distort image
Yellow boxes - cursor changes to two head arrow - can resize image.
Pink dots - cursor changes to rotating line - can rotate the image
Having set a path - selecting box at ends - cursor changes to four point arrow - can move box any where
Having set path - move cursor to any point on the line - cursor changes to little hand - can then change the shape of the path

Re: Customize Motion - Major Issues
Hi Brian,
Completely dead in the water, nothing works correctly in X6 or X7,yet in Premiere Elements 12 and Movie Studio Platinum 13, Motion and Tracking Motion work correctly.
Unsure what to do next, a complete reinstall of X6 and X7 again, I did actually get it to work once in X7 everything functional, but when I tried to modify a path, all functionality was lost again

Re: Customize Motion - Major Issues
Hi Robert
Certainly something amiss here, like Brian I have no problems which would suggest your system rather than the program.
Is your Computer User Profile set as Administrator?
Is your computer upto date regarding auto updates?
Direct X should be upto date as I think VS installer installs DX.
Can you try running the program with administrator rights, Right click the desktop icon and choose Run as Admin.
Can you try running the program with XP Compatibility, again right click desktop icon and choose Properties – Compatibility Tab – Compatibility Mode

Re: Customize Motion - Major Issues
Thank you Trevor, the issue has been resolved by right clicking and selecting "run as administrator" but I have to do that everytime I open VSX7, properties show that all users have full admin rights, so is there still something wrong with my system because surely it shouldn't be necessary to do that each time I open X7
The computer has only one user account (Robert)and that is listed as Administrator
Robert
Update,
Even after turning off UAC it still requires permission to allow the program to make changes to the computer, must be a Corel script requirement because none of my other programs require this. Anyway, I can live with that, the program now works as it should.

Re: Customize Motion - Major Issues - RESOLVED
Hi Robert
I would have suspected your user account but you say you are set as Administrator.
I don’t fully understand UAC as when turning off I would have thought would have disabled it , but windows still request admin permissions.????
The other options may be the permissions set for the program.
Certainly there does seem some problem with your or the programs permissions.
I gust wish I knew more about it.
I will check my programs permissions to see what is set, maybe your setup is different.
Certainly you are the only person having this problem, so would appear to be your computer not the program???
Updated
Well I checked the program properties and security settings all selected (Full Control) except special permissions.
That’s for :-
System
Trevor (my PC name)
Administrators for my PC
The advanced option also shows as Full Control
