VS6 takes around 30 seconds to react to Create Video File

However I never said that that I had the problem also with SD video files refer a couple of replies back -
I just did a test using VS6 and loaded 900+ SD video clips to a project with "Show message when inserting ..." (which sets the project properties) and then when I selected Create Video File there was virtually NO delay.

I do not think that you would ever see the "not responding" if you don't have a delay.
Thanks anyway for your input and I think that there is no point continuing this post now that (it seems) I have determined that the delay is a result of mismatched project properties.

I did a test with X7 which allows project properties of HD video formats and when the project properties is set to AVCHD (and the video clips are .mts) there is NO delay, when the project project properties is DV (and the video clips are .mts) then there is a huge delay.
I also did a test of changing the properties from DV to AVCHD and when I did there is a HUGE delay.
SO it appears that VS needs to do a lot of work when changing the project properties and it needs to also do this when selecting Create Video File when the project properties does NOT match the video clips.
