Updating from V6 to V7

Post by robinski »

Within a few weeks of purchasing V6 the new V7 was launched. Messages to Corel have been ignored. I feel that advantage has been taken. Any advice?

I'm afraid this happens every year. For Video Studio, past experience indicates that a new version is issued around this time ever year. I am sure you won't be the last with the same complaint. With past versions, I know that Corel did make the new version available free when the previous version had been bought within a few weeks of the launch of the new version. But I trust you understand that none of us here work for Corel -- we are just users like you who volunteer their time to help other users. So nothing I say here is based on anything except observation of what Corel has done in the past -- no guarantee it will happen again.

Who did you contact in Corel? I imagine you would need to contact the Corel store... or is it them who have been ignoring your messages?

One other option might be for you to post your complaint on Corel's Video Studio Facebook account. Needless to say, they would prefer to have good news stories posted there, and others have found they get quick (and often positive) responses when they post there, so you might want to try that too.

See my most recent post. IMO, you're better off with X6 anyway. I don't think X7 is worth the extra money, so I'll be sticking with X6.
