OK, first let me answer some questions:
I only downloaded and installed the 64-bit install files
I am using Windows 7
Now my confusion: I was looking for everything in the "Program Files (x86)" folder but am only seeing what appear to be Setup folders and files.
I just looked in the "Program Files" folder and NOW I see all the Corel VideoStudio Pro X7 files I expected (as per my X6 install which I still have on board only they are in the x86 files folder)
SO....my question now is: Did the 64-bit install files I downloaded actually install the 64-bit version??
All my 'Corel VS X6 file components' are in my Program Files (x86) folder, so why did all the VS X7 components install to just the Program Files folder??
Note: when I click Help->About it does indeed say (64-bit Pro)
Can anyone confirm, it does appear I was among the first to grab up on this offer, perhaps the download files where miss-named?? (however my existing 32-bit plugins won't install as posted earlier???)
Should I re-download and install? I don't want to deal with issues further down when installing add-ons and updates if there is an issue with this initial release...

Re: VideoStudio X7 64-bit install?
The Program Files (x86) folder on a 64 bit computer is used to contain programs that are 32 bit. The main Program Files (without the x86) folder is for 64 bit programs. So your 64 bit X7 is correctly located. Mind you, I don't know why Corel chose to install the set-up files in the x86 folder. But last night I had to uninstall and reinstall X7 64 bit, and used those x86 setup files, and X7 was correctly installed in the Program Files (i.e. 64 bit) folder.
