Make real use of GPU. Use nVidia CUDA for transcoding, encoding... if AMD/ATI and OpenCL is too finicky and underpowered.
That would put you really ahead of competition.

My Sony camcorder records AVCHD with 5.1 surround sound (H.264 video, Dolby Digital audio, 48000 Hz 448 kbps). From VS X8 I wish for this audio format NewBlue FX filters. Likewise, I would like an equalizer to change the sound of these clips.

Could you please explain what you mean by this? NewBlue are a separate company from Corel....From VS X8 I wish for this audio format NewBlue FX filters.

Please see the screenshot. I wish NewBlue Audiofilters for 5.1-Surroundsound at this point.Ken Berry wrote:Could you please explain what you mean by this? NewBlue are a separate company from Corel....From VS X8 I wish for this audio format NewBlue FX filters.
Re: VideoStudio Wishlist for Version X8
I wish an Option to choose an Audio file for further editing the Video in an m2ts stream.
Such files come from my SAT Receiver. There are 3 Audios files included. VS X7 chooses the first one, I have no Option to choose another one.

I'd like to see more functionality around chapter creation,
1. first of all ability to transfer *named* chapter points from time line to the output mp4 files or any format which supports chapter streams/metadata.
2. transfer chapter names over to dvd/blue ray editor. BTW, in blue/ray, dvd editor chapter names should be editable at chapter line, not just in menus.
2. easy naming chapters at timeline, not just in the chapter manager.
3. create a text file in some format with chapter list (times and names).
About formats, would be nice to add generation fo *mkv* containers.

Chapter points created in the timeline edit mode and named will be shown in the burner module.
Rendering the project to MPEG2 for DVD will embed the chapter point details and also be available in the burner module, however you have to scan the file to recover the points
2. transfer chapter names over to dvd/blue ray editor. BTW, in blue/ray, dvd editor chapter names should be editable at chapter line, not just in menus.
As the names are used from the timeline there would be no need to edt them in the chapter points line

How about for sharing to mpeg-4 files (no dvd nor blueray)? Would be nice to have chapters there too.

i do not see how. Whey I push "add/edit chapters" in blue-ray editor, I get a line with chapter icons and time codes, no names. I could not find a way to add/edit chapter names at this point either

Hi
The point being if you do Share Create Disc, you are intending to burn a DVD, Bluray or Avchd disc.
If you have set your chapter points in the timeline and named them via the Chapter Points Manager then they will show on your chapter menu as named.

Re: VideoStudio Wishlist for Version X8
Replace the message box 'Delete this control by dragging outside the box' when hovering the mouse over the clip volume nodes, with more essential information on its set gain level.
The node gain levels set can only be read after the nodes have been moved, which is counter-productive. Once moved each level has then to be reset to its original value, that's if you can remember what was set in this first place, since on moving the node, its reading does not always give the original value!!
It would be better hovering the mouse over to read the various node gain levels prior to making any adjustment.
Additionally, grabbing those fiddly node points and finding the right position for a new mode placement arrow to show up is sometimes like trying to hit the line of ducks with those fairground pop guns!

Re: VideoStudio Wishlist for Version X8
1) Get a better codec for mp4 rendering. The current setup allows for nice small files. However, I would like the ability to create higher quality at the expense of file size if necessary.
2) A more stable 64-bit version. I have to use the 32-bit because the 64-bit locked up all the time.

Re: VideoStudio Wishlist for Version X8
At the moment, there is only 1 software which allows user to create Motion graphics and visual effects: Adobe's After effects. So, my suggest is that you will make your own visual effects/compositing/motion graphics (mograph) software with seamless compatibility for VideoStudio.
I think VideoStudio look and sounds great video editing software but I would love to see software with MoGraph and compositing tools from Corel with VideoStudio compatibility or - compositing and mograph tools integrated into VideoStudio.
If you will make After effects competitor features, it would grow your user-base a lot because motion graphics markets are huge and it is growing. Also adobe users want to find alternative for Adobe products... Especially the After effects users, because of subscription payment. Users wants to own their software license - not opposite!
If you will create your own Visual effects software with motion graphics tools, i would suggest you take inspiration / make these features
1. Maxon Cinema 4D's motion graphics (MoGraph and xpresso) tools,
2. After effects text animation tools & visual effects tools (blue screen remover, espress commands, puppet tool, slow motion effects and camera stabilizer technlogy).
3. Some inspiration from Nuke: Possibility to import 3D-data - like camera, lights, nulls and maybe polygons with animation data. Roto tools with roto tracking, 3D-camera tracker, 2.5D planar tracker.
There should be also high quality effects: glow, dof - http://www.frischluft.com/lenscare/ , motion blur - http://www.revisionfx.com/products/rsmb/ , lens flare - https://www.videocopilot.net/products/opticalflares/ , particle effects - http://www.x-particles.com/ , light wrap and edge blur - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR7V-4ZlW0E , sound effector - http://vimeo.com/53128568 with possiblity to link the audio frequencies and volume to parameters.
4. practical compositing - http://www.disneyresearch.com/project/ducttake/
5. Unlimited resolution with unlimited fps and with 32bit color depth.
6. OpenEXR image format annd image sequense support (with alpha channel).
Maybe all this could be integrated to VideoStudio same way as in Nuke Studio: http://www.thefoundry.co.uk/products/nu ... ke-studio/
Here is the most popular visual effects softwares, maybe these will inspire you:

Re: VideoStudio Wishlist for Version X8
1. Among the FX that are available the one I use most is the "Pan and Zoom" effect. The problem I have with it is that the resulting clip has the same dimensions as the original one. This makes it impossible, for example, to pan down a portrait-style image to create a video clip that fills the window with a landscape-resized video that pans down (or up) across the entire original image. I'd find this very useful.
2. The clip that results from applying "Pan and Zoom" to a still image is, in effect, a video clip. It would be a welcome improvement if it were possible to track motion in such a clip in the way that is possible for an actual video clip.
3. When applying a second or third FX to a clip it is not now possible to see how customizing the new FX looks with the other FX that were installed earlier; all you can see is the application of the new effect to the original clip. This makes it unnecessarily difficult to set up new customizations.
4. When you apply a transition effect to an entire production, the time-length of the entire video should not change but it does. This causes a misalignment of titles, overlays, audio tracks, etc. and it should be easy to fix - before applying the transitions, just increase the length of each clip (other than the first and last) by half the length of a transition. It's surprising that this bug has not been fixed a long time ago.
5. With clips that are PSP files there should be an FX that allows for editing the visibility of the layers at a series of key frames.
6. It would be a convenience if titles could be linked to video-track clips so that when the video-track clip is moved the associated title clip would move with it.

Have you checked this out recently? I used to have this problem quite frequently but it's not happened for months now. I suspect there's been a relevant update.the_hefay wrote: 2) A more stable 64-bit version. I have to use the 32-bit because the 64-bit locked up all the time.
