That message is annoying, it doesn't always appear, but even so, it's still a pain.
To cure the problem, until Corel fix this, I have put a shortcut to the Messages folder on the Desktop.
I open PSPX6, then minimize it, open the shortcut and delete the message.
Sometimes there are two messages in there, sometimes just the one.

My messages live here:
C:\Users\Joelle\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages

It works a treat, but of course is a little extra clicking. Still, better than seeing that screen pop up :-)

Hi Trilliana

Have just tried the "Make Selection with Magic Wand" followed by "Adjust Histogram" with no problem on my X6 with SP1 (haven't been brave enough to install SP2 yet).

I can't install Service Pack 2 on the X6 version. It gets to 95% and then there is a error notice. I've tried it several times with no luck. I have used both Firefox and Internet Explorer for downloading, and still no luck. I had this same problem with Service Pack 1. Somehow I managed to get through to somebody who gave me a link to download the whole X6 program already updated. That worked but now the same error is with SP2.

I contacted somebody by the name of Joseph, and he said he would look into it and get back to me. That was over a week ago, and still nothing.

Each time I use the program and then shut it down, a message pops up to tell me an update is available. However, when I click on the link it doesn't go anywhere. So I go to the Corel website and download the file, and it still doesn't work. I wish I could at least stop the pop up update reminder. This is very irritating. This service pack problem seems to be an ongoing thing with Corel, and they are not providing answers.

Does anyone have any idea what to do about this annoying situation? Everything works great with the program and I see no reason for an update, but if it should be installed, then I would like to do so.

Hi John B. Do you have Internet Explorer as your default Browser. Have read somewhere where PSP has problems with other browsers, but worth a try. You might find that link works then?

My default browser is Firefox. I even disabled the add-ons, and rebooted, but still no luck. After this I booted Internet Explorer and downloaded SP2 again, and still no luck. The link doesn't open up my browser; it only pops us when I shut down PSPX6. But I also go to Corel's website and download SP2, and it still doesn't work. So the pop up link really isn't the problem.

I think you have to set Internet Explorer as your default browser even if only temporarily. I have had the pop up and the link works OK as I have Internet Explorer as my default and use Firefox for some pages that do not display well in Internet Explorer.
