Canon 1100D raw is still wrong.

PSPX6 still only uses only one core randomly when you start the program, even the hyper-threading cores.

So no change then, same old junk.

Downloaded Photoshop CS2 for free, so much faster even without hardware acceleration.

Today I decided to take the plunge and install SP2 (after taking a System Restore Point first to be safe;)

Everything seems fine in Edit Mode (I am using 64 bit only) with my usual routines so I tried switching to Manage Mode.
I decided to drill down to my photos in "Computer" in order to test whether PSP remembers the folder when I close and re-open.
(This was a fault I reported previously).
The first time I tried, PSP froze/hung and the program closed. It did so again the second time immediately when I opened it (in Manage Mode). It was only the third time (after I was panicking;) that it opened properly and returned to the chosen folder.
After checking, I find the folder and images are recorded in the ImageDB.db (Catalog).

I set PSP to open in Edit Mode as a precaution and now find it pauses with the hourglass for several second when I open it.
Switching to and fro between Manage Mode and Edit Mode seems to work fine, preserving my Workspace.

Service Pack 2 seems to have fixed the issue with the boarders not showing through an image in Print Layout. I have tried both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions on Windows 7 Home 64-bit and the 32-bit version on Windows XP pro 32-bit. Print Layout now seems to work just as it did in Paint Shop X5. Thank you Corel

Copying an image still takes forever.
Previewing an adjustment processes the whole image instead of the part of the picture that is viewed.
Still no larger then 30,000 x 30,000 pixels.

Only issue I've noticed so far is a slow down in saving a file. (I use 100+ meg tiffs and they are always slowish but now they are 'slow').

I didn't have SP1 installed, but installed SP2.
It has cured the problem with the Print Layout icons looking like script icons. So worth keeping :-)

It's a HUGE file to download, just to get print layout to look as it should ;-(

Going from Manage to Edit, still messes up the customization and I have to re-load the custom workspace.
Not a biggie as I never use Manage or Adjust. But of course that shouldn't happen.

The annoying message which appears when PSP is closed still pops up

So a question arises here from Joelles Post. Do you need to install SP1 and then SP2 or are both included in SP2 . Also does SP2 address the hotfix needed for SP1 (the broken zoom window image match)?
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

They are cumulative. And fix is inside. :)

I have had SP2 installed for a week now (I think it's a week ..) and nothing weird has happened.
As I said, I didn't install SP1 (or I should say I didn't keep it after trying it, but rolled back the system instead to get back to what went before).
That windows issue was annoying and then to have to install a hotfix on top as well seemed a little over the top, so I rolled back, No windows issue.
SP1 didn't cure the problem I had with the Print Layout..

The normal procedure is to install service packs in sequence, but of course it would be more sensible if SP1 is included in SP2,(considering the enormous file size).

Yes, the annoying window issue seems to be solved, so I assume that the Hotfix is included in SP2.

:-)

JPG subsampling setting is still wrong (reverted) and doesn't match the selection at all.

Hi first post, hopefully in the correct place.Currently using PSP X6 SP1. Prompted by program that SP2 was available and ready to install.Installed without pain but when it opened and I tried to navigate to my Photo folders I got the dreaded blue circle constantly turning and program froze. Had to shut it down with Task manager. Tried another couple of times with same result.Decided to uninstall full program and start from scratch. Installed PSP Pro x6 and SP1, tested program, working normal as before. Set system restore point, then installed SP2. Opened program and froze within 1 minute. Have tried installing just PSP Pro x6 and SP2 but it has the same end result, program freezes. Anybody have any ideas or do I just ignore SP2.

Hi everybody,

I just installed SP2, no problems as it seems. It even preserved my customized toolbar (this wasn't so in X4, the SPs resetted the toolbar to standard). I checked two things which were very buggy:

1. It seems the Manager doesn't crash anymore on images with hierarchical keywords, which is definitely positive. I don't have to painfully avoid folders with such images anymore :D It doesn't show any keywords either, but this is no problem for me, I use another image DB.

2. Unfortunately another very annoying bug is still there: When trying to open "Adjust histogram" on a selection made with the magic wand, PSP freezes. The cursor changes to the stop symbol, and that was it, I have to kill PSP in the task manager  . This happened sometimes on selections made with other tools too.

My solution is to promote the selection to a new layer, adjust the histogram, and merge the layers, but it would be so nice to have this bug corrected. Applying the histogram adjustment to a selection worked perfectly in all earlier versions I had.
Have a nice day /evening /night
