exported video audio skipping

Post by tonypeck »

Every time I export a video as an HD video file, the audio skips at a certain spot and everything from that point on is out of synch. The video was edited mts files from my canon video camera, but the audio that I synched it with is mp3 files that I recorded separately.

Successive versions of VS have had difficulty with certain mp3 codecs, notably the LAMEmp3 one. All I can suggest is that you convert the mp3 to standard .wav format in an audio editing program such as the freeware Audacity, and use that instead.

would any other audio formats work? Because for some reason during the editing process corel only plays mp3s. Wavs are just static noise.

That in itself is particularly strange since .wav as I say is the basic audio format and every version I have ever used of VS, since version 7 and now up to X7 (17) has never had the slightest hesitation in playing .wav. Moreover, the codec for .wav comes as a standard part of all versions of Windows, so it is not even down to VS to install that codec. Even if you don't have VS installed on your computer, the computer should be able to play a .wav file in Windows Media Player and any other audio/video player on your computer. So I would be looking at some other problem on your computer...

I shouldn't even have to ask this, but how did you produce the original wav files?
