Hi,
I tried using the invert tool to work on a negative ("scanned" with a DSLR).
One thing I did not expected was that other tools then work in reverse -- but not all. For example, curves work as usual, but exposure correction or white balance are inverted (Exposure +1 darken the image, a higher temperature means a bluer image...).
Does somebody know when is applied this invert tool in the pipeline?
Wouldn't it be possible to have a "better" invert tool, which let you use the others settings normally? If it were applied just after the demosaicing step, I think...?
Thanks!
edit: I wrote "mirror" instead of "invert" the first time I posted this, it was a mistake! Both tools are together but that's all...

Re: invert tool (to work on negatives)
You can see the pipeline order when you look at the startup parts in the log file.
No way to change the position for invert though. But see if there are plugins after it that might provide the functionality you need.

Re: invert tool (to work on negatives)
Thanks for the info about the pipeline's order in the log file (see below). Knowing this, I think that: White Balance and Exposure will work in reverse, Highlights/Filllight/Positive Vignette won't work correctly, but otherwise it should function as usual.
If the order cannot be change, do you think it could be possible to create a plugin that does the same thing but sooner (like just before White Balance (17))?

Re: invert tool (to work on negatives)
A plugin can put itself anywhere in the pipeline, so a plugin that inverts could be made that sits riht after crop.
