SmartSound VS X7
I had a problem with SmartSound being "greyed out" when I switched from Windows 7 to Windows 8/8.1 with VS X5 Pro. The same problem occurred with VS X6 Pro and not fixed with SP1. In the new VS 7X Pro trial, the Smartsound icon is now totally missing. I tried to chat with Corel, but there isn't support for the trial. I don't want to buy X7 if SmartSound is still not working. Has this problem still not been fixed after 2 years?

Re: SmartSound VS X7
Well I have X7 (and X6) installed on a Windows 8.1 machine (with the OS having been installed on a virgin HDD without Win 8 previously installed). The SmartSound icon is certainly there and active in both. And indeed I have already used SmartSound in X7, if only just to test it. Normally, I use its 'big brother' Sonic Fire Pro (also made by SmartSound as a stand-alone program). And that too works well in Win 8.1.
It surprises me that the TBYB version doesn't even have the button -- it's supposed to be a complete version... Hopefully some other TBYB user will be able to confirm whether or not they have it on their trial installation...

Re: SmartSound VS X7
Currently downloading the TBYB. I also had the issue with VSX5. I managed to get this corrected by reverting my machine back to to Win8 from 8.1. I'm curious to see if this is still a problem. Will post what I find.

Re: SmartSound VS X7
I've installed VS X7 TBYB, and SS works as it should.
