This is an nice simple example but by no means the only way to provoke the problem.
1. Apply Perfectly Clear to an image.
2. Selectively copy (shift-ctrl-C) just the Perfectly Clear setting
3. Paste to all other images in directory (anything over 50 images should do)
Result is a hang.
Many bulk operations end up the same including imports.
The way to overcome this is to set the "CPU threads" limit to 1 in performance settings.
Now, I purchased a chunky 6 processor system (12 logical processors with Hyperthreading) to take advantage of Bibble's (as it was then) multiprocessing capabilities and I'm somewhat disappointed that after years of development this software still fails to fulfil its promise. I'm forced to cripple ASP to make it work properly.
I'm a full-time professional photographer and I've chosen to depend on Linux and a general open source workflow. Bibble/ASP is the only closed source software I use and it sticks out for its unreliability. The software written by keen, enthusiastic and generally unpaid programmers trumps it completely for stability and dependability.
Responses and commitment, Corel?

Re: Constantly hangs on bulk operations
Is that the limit of the support for this issue?

Re: Constantly hangs on bulk operations
This is a user-to-user forum. Occasionally Corel staff will say something, but I've not seen them use this forum to provide support.

Re: Constantly hangs on bulk operations
This is a "Bugs & Suggestions" forum.
Now, I can see that a "Help and Support" forum could be provided by peers but it is entirely pointless to offer suggestions and bug reports to the rest of the user community. Where would that get anyone?
If Corel can't do something useful with ASP, then it's about time they opened the source and let the community take it over. Is wilful neglect of software a crime yet?
It's tragic that something so nearly great is bumbling along as an almost OK offering.
As an aside, I'm here because I'm waiting for ASP to delete some master versions from the library. It stumbles through deleting them at the rate of about one every 30 seconds. I'm deleting over 50. It must be quite a challenge to make it so slow.
I might go out for a walk.
