Annotation & Hyperlinks in Youtube Vids

Post by deanx »

Hi guys

I'm just trying to get my head around this and I'm away from my PC with VideoStudio X6 Ultimate at the minute.

I've been creating a video that will eventually end up on our YouTube channel. I want to put hyperlinks and bits in so have been reading the manual and seems I should have started this as a HTML5 project. Is that right?

Also, I understand VSP outputs a full HTML stucture and not just the vids. How easy is it to get these onto YouTube, or can't I?

Basically I want to make YouTube vids with Hyperlinks to allow users to click through to our download page or support forum for example. Is this possible in X6 Ultimate or have I misunderstood and bought in haste?

Many thanks
Dean

I think you just have to upload the video and embed the link into your website. Most html website editors allow this without the use of an html based embed code.

Hi Erdna

Thanks for the response. Perhaps I didn' explain myself very well, what I mean is:

1 - In order to put links in a video created in VPS it needs to be in HTML5 format.

2 - Renderd HTML5 projects from VPS result in a full HTML structure (index.html file plus folders of content and java script etc etc.)

3 - How do I get all of these files and folders on to YouTube? I mean, It's not just a case of uploading one single file like an MP4. I assume without all of the files from the HTML5 export I the video and content will not function correctly?

I hope that makes a little more sense.

Thanks
Dean

Aha, looks like I've found a way. Just make a standard video instead of HMTL5 and use YouTube video manager to add links and annotations.

And to think Corel Support wanted £29.99 to answer this questions.
