Hi,
I am trying to Contact Corel Customer Support for activation code. Message to do this says " To proceed, enter the serial number and Activation Code you receive from Customer Service in the corresponding spaces below. "
There is no one to talk to and no email for support on website other than this forum. What do you suggest?

Sorry but are we talking about Video Studio here? If so, how did you purchase VS? I have never seen a reference to an activation code...

Re: Contact Corel Customer Support
I had the a similar issue. Downloaded the new X7 per an email from Corel asking me to "Try Before You Buy" as an "Exclusive Offer". I did the download, installed, registered and received an appropriate email confirming registration. Upon the program failing to preview even a simple vsp from X6, I attempted to get support. In order to open a ticket, one needs a code but the program does not have one and the registration email does not have one either. I checked my Corel account for registered products and X7 does not appear on the list. I finally started a "Chat" session, got a call open to Tech Support only to find out that X7 isn't supported yet. They had no clue why I got an email urging me to try it and refused to offer any advice on why it fails. I sent them Windows 7 event viewer dumps anyway. It seems that the only way to open a support call without the necessary code is to do so via their "Chat" feature.

Re: Contact Corel Customer Support
Regarding your vsp problem, as BrianCee mentioned in another post, if you have installed the 64 bit version of X7 and your X6 vsp had NewBlue or other third party 32 bit elements in it, they won't open in X7 64 bit. Mind you, I would still think the project itself would open but with white bits where the non-recognised parts are located in the project.
Have you noticed anything else which is not working properly in your TBYB version?

Re: Contact Corel Customer Support
Hi Ken,
I have 10 very recent projects from X6. All will open but only some will preview and render an mp4. I do have X6 Ultimate with all sorts of features loaded but can't really tell you if there is a definite co-orelation between what was used in the original project and what causes failure in X7. I do know that a very simple one with about 500 jpg files works ok but more complex though smaller projects fail, presumably because of original editing using features in X6. I have yet to nail down what is causing the crashes and have little interest in doing so if Corel isn't ready to own the program yet. I suspect there are some Mercalli stabilisations, color corrections, lots of transitions and customized motions that are causing the issues because I frequently use those features.
As an additional note, I have noticed that some of my vsp files vary in size if just opened, then immediately saved (in X6). I can't find any info on why that may be happening. There is no difference in the appearance or operation of the edited project between the larger or smaller vsp files. I assumed X6 is "cleaning" up the file somehow so I tried opening a smaller one in X7 but it fails exactly as the larger one. Do you know of any vsp project file verification/cleaning/validation feature or program?

Sorry, but I don't know of any.Do you know of any vsp project file verification/cleaning/validation feature or program?
Your mention of Mercalli, though, made me think that a likely culprit. X7 contains Mercalli, but I imagine it is the 64 bit version. So if you used Mercalli 32 bit in X6, then it wouldn't open in X7. I wonder, though, if the same project would open in X7 32 bit? Mind you, I'm not going to try loading it to see, since unlike PaintShop Pro, you can't have the 32 and 64 bit versions of VS on the same computer. If you load one, and try to install the other, it uninstalls the first one.

Re: Contact Corel Customer Support
The e-mail with the support code in it is a separate e-mail and should be titled "Welcome to your 30 day free warranty support" it is not the same as the registration e-mail.
