Display Problems with X6
Hi all. Could use some help, please.
The problem seems to be that when I'm working with a file that has layers, not all of the layer I am working on will display. But, if I zoom in or out, what was supposed to be there, will reappear.
Also, in the foreground/background boxes, they aren't always filled in with the entire color I've picked, but will have a grey band at the bottom of the box (so only the top part of the box shows the color being used).
The computer is quite new, midrange value and graphics drivers have been upgraded and have downloaded and installed SP1.
I have X4 and this problem does not happen there, so I'm guessing it's the program.
I have reinstalled the program, but the problem persists.
I upgraded to X6 from X4 with much anticipation, but now and quite disappointed. Was very happy with X4, hoping that Corel would become the new King after Adobe went subscription, but now....
Thanks.

Re: Display Problems with X6
Sounds like a graphics card problem and nothing to do with PSPX6.
I've never seen this on my version of X6 or any version come to think of it.

Re: Display Problems with X6
It sounds like the same re-draw problems people have been having with X6. It always appears for people while they are doing different things but the story is always the same.
Something they do doesn't show up, or the graphics don't re-draw properly. By zooming in and out it forces PSP to redraw the area and whatever was wrong is made right again, if only for a little while. For most people this started around SP1 and the hotfix. Since Joelle doesn't have SP1 installed it would make sense that she doesn't see it.

Well another good reason not to have SP1 installed.LeviFiction wrote:It sounds like the same re-draw problems people have been having with X6. It always appears for people while they are doing different things but the story is always the same.

I hope all this gets ironed out in SP2, if there is one..

I'd like to say that it's good to hear that I'm not the only one who's having this problem, but there doesn't seem to be much good in it....LeviFiction wrote:It sounds like the same re-draw problems people have been having with X6. I really liked X4 and had high hopes for X6, but it's unusable as it is. I have Adobe Elements 10 and quite dislike the program, but it works. Sigh.
Anyway, if this is common, I'm hoping that Corel is all over this and working on a solution.
Thanks all for the posts.

Re: Display Problems with X6
Update on the problem.
I installed the hotfix, and it solved some of the display problems, but not all.
I haven't used the program much since I've installed the hotfix, but for sure, when I'm zoomed in and use the eraser tool, not everything under the brush was erased. It left fragments behind which disappear when I zoomed in or out. The fragments weren't at the edge of the brush, so this 'new' problem isn't critical; the program is usable now.
I'm hoping that this problem does eventually get fixed as I quite like this program.

Re: Display Problems with X6
Just about to give up on Paintshop because of the redraw problem. I am sick of having to permanently zoom in and out. It is very poor for a Corel product to be this bad. I have not long purchased it and it states it is fully up to date so if anyone can tell me where to get a fix I would be very happy. I feel i've wasted my cash on this junk.

That's generally referred to as a bug
Download and install the hotfix:

It's solved the problem for others.

it says to install SP1 and that it will be included in SP2.
i have sp2 and the issue described in this thread.
though this issue described in the hotfix:
the zoom in and out setting has changed to where it no longer allows the user to resize the document window while the workspace has tabbed documents unchecked.
does not seem to be the one described in this thread or the one i have.
any thoughts?
