Removing points from Smart Photo Fix adjust white balance

For years I've been using Smart Photo Fix to adjust "white balance by identifying the neutral areas in the photo (black, gray, and white), which are used as sampling points." The effect of adding sampling points is cumulative and works well. However, if you click on a sampling point to remove it, the picture preview reverts to the original white balance even though there are still sampling points left.

I can accept that the programmers can't recalculate the white balance of the remaining points, but now I need to remove any existing points to remind myself that they are not active. If the program ignores the remaining points, then they should be removed, but I would prefer to get what I think I'm asking for.

Since there is no documentation on removing points, I can't say that the program is not working according to specification. Is this a bug or just an undocumented restriction?

White balance usually works so well that I have never seen this since Smart Photo Fix came out. I know it is in X3 and X6. I only noticed this when I was fixing a picture using 5 points. The cumulative effect of each new point is less, but when I removed the last point because it made no difference there was a big change.

This worked OK in X2, but was broken in X3 - X6.
Resetting to default removes the remaining points in one step so you can then use just the points that made a difference.
