PSP X6 and X5 Vector problem

Post by JudyM »

I recently downloaded and have been using Gary Barton's nifty script, Vector Stroke...available from Pixelnook.
This script works with many of the tools, brushes of various sorts , tubes and even the Art media tools to follow a vector path.
It works a little differently from Vector Tube and Vector Paint in that you create a path and whilst that path is selected [not the whole vector layer], you create a new raster or art media layer and start the script.
It works beautifully in versions 9 to X3 [ and maybe x4 ??] but I am unable to keep that path selected in either X5 or X6 without using CTL and then the whole vector layer is selected which gives a really horrid result with the art media tools.

Is there a work around?

3 An example of what I want to create ..in this case using the marker pen.

I ran the script in PSPX6 and it works perfectly. Lower the brush size.

Which art media brushes did you use?
My result is just a pattern of dots :(

I tried all Art Media brushes.

I drew a line on a vector layer.

I then selected the oil brush. Set the Vector Paint script to go and the stroke covers the vector line, but on it's own Art Media Layer.
I drew another line on the vector layer but this time chose the watercolour brush and a different colour.
It worked the same way on the wavy line with the marker tool.

Before you run the script. After selecting the brush go to Presets and reset to default then try again.

Thanks Maureen
I did get them to work using your directions..but only with default settings....which is very limiting of course. :(
I also ended up with a spray of spare pixels unfortunately...particularly along the edges of the brush stroke and at the end of the oil brush.

Luckily the script works beautifully in earlier versions of PSP . :)
