Can someone tell me how I can have a specific transition repeated on the timeline without setting it as a default. I'm a former Pinnacle Studio user and they called it "ripple transition". You would put the transition you want between 2 consecutive video or picture clips, then select that small group and right click and select, "ripple transition". The program would then fill in that transition in to the end of your project. It was a fast way to fill in the same transition throughout the project.
I saw there was a setting to set a default transition, but that's not what I'm after because I may want a different transition throughout my program but may not be the same default one selected.
Thanks for your input/help!

Re: Repeat Transition
not quite sure what your saying there - you can have a different default transition for every project - you can even change to a different default part way through a project - just because you set something does not mean you have to keep the same one for ever.
sounds easier and quicker than your alternative programme which if it repeats must surely put the same transition throughout the project.

Re: Repeat Transition
Correct...you bring down the transition you want from the menu above, drop it between 2 different frames, select the 2 transitions and frames (to highlight them) then right click and select, "ripple transition" which then duplicates that transition you selected in the project through the end of the current project. Therefore, you can select any transition and duplicate it throughout your project easily without having a default. Is there something similar to this to make repeating transitions easy without having to select a default in VideoStudio X6?

Re: Repeat Transition
That is basically what happens in VideoStudio when you select "automatically add transition effect" and then YOU choose which one to add - now when you add a photo you just overlap the previous one and a transition is added - that happens every time you add a photo.
YOU select the default transition
you can at any time during the project change that default - transitions already applied stay but from then on the new one is applied each time.

Re: Repeat Transition
I don't know if this is new feature with X7, but this is exactly what I was describing and looking for...thought I'd share to have it on file if anyone else had the same question.

Re: Repeat Transition
Hi acecert
Thanks for the feedback, that option has been a feature of earlier versions, not sure when it was first introduced.
It would be better if we could select adjacent clips then apply the transition just to those, unfortunately not we have to apply to all.
Keep using that right click on other icons/clips within the program you may find other useful options.
If you are applying transitions to every clip then double clicking a transition will insert it to the first available pair of clips, from the left of timeline, that may help??

Re: Repeat Transition
Yes, it does help...thank you! If this feature was available in earlier versions, I wonder why nobody told me about it based on my original question? It's exactly what I was looking for (and asking). Oh, well...maybe my question wasn't clear. Glad the feature is there.
