Timeline View - Show Full Image (not filename)
How do you change the view setting for photos added to the timeline that show the entire photo rather than a small thumbnail and the photo file name? I'd like to only see the photo in the timeline in the entire photo clip space. Sample attached. Thanks for your help!! I'm on VideoStudio X6.

Go to "Settings >> Preferences" (or press F6 when VideoStudio is open) and about 1/3 of the way down the dialogue box which opens change the dropdown next to "Clip display Mode" to say "Thumbnail only" - click OK at the bottom and you should see the full image.

Re: Timeline View - Show Full Image (not filename)
Thank you very much! I don't know how I missed that darn setting as I went into preferences several times and overlooked that. At any rate, I changed the setting and now here is the appearance I am getting (attached). Is there any way to get the full picture in the are area or is this the way this program handles viewing photos in the timeline? I'm a long-time Pinnacle Studio user and am recently making the switch. Pinnacle shows the entire picture view in the timeline for each picture clip and surrounds it with black space. Thank you for your help!

Re: Timeline View - Show Full Image (not filename)
From what I can see of your screenshot, it appears that your time-lines are enlarged vertically. Try sizing them down by grabbing the top of the time-line and dragging down. Placing your cursor above video track #1, you should see the cursor change to a double-headed arrow with lines in between. That's when you can drag to resize.

Hi
As Ron mentioned it does appear that you have re-sized the workstation panels.
Press F7 on the keyboard to revert to the default view.
To the far right of the timeline are the zoom controls for the timelines, this will expand / contract the duration/time allowing you to fit to screen or zoom using the – and + symbols.
Forum image
When creating an image for the post use the Attachments option rather than the Image option. (bottom of post)
That will allow you to insert a jpeg at 500px---- max 950 pixels wide and 800 pixels high.
The image will display a little smaller but allows us to click to view a larger image?

Re: Timeline View - Show Full Image (not filename)
I hadn't resized the video timeline...it came that way when I installed the software. I did try to resize it, but could not find where you were referring to with the double arrows with the lines...I was only able to get double arrows with a mouse. I did discover that I could "zoom to" the clips duration which provided a single photo in the clip; however it still doesn't fill the clip area. Also, this is a short-term solution (unless there is another or something I'm not doing right) because I will vary the amount of time for clip properties project by project.

Did you try pressing F7 as suggested by Trevor - did it not work
So try clicking on the icon I have ringed in the image below (show all tracks)

Yes, I did press F7 and nothing happened. I did now press the button you have highlighted and it shrunk the timeline a bit but not like your picture your provided. I appreciate your help in trying to resolve this.

Re: Timeline View - Show Full Image (not filename)
Are your various panels, especially the timeline, floating or docked? You can double-click on the upper-left corners and they float, where they can be rearranged, resized, ect.
The above screenshot shows the default layout, with all panels docked.
The above screenshot show the only way I could somewhat replicate what you're experiencing. The timeline is floating, and has been resized vertically. However Brian's suggestion of your monitor resolution could also produce that.

Re: Timeline View - Show Full Image (not filename)
I believe they are floating...I double clicked the dots and I'm able to resize/move them. Is there an easy way to set these panels to dock and back to their original sizes? I had to manually resize and relocate them once I started to play with them to see if they were floating or docked. I'd rather have the setting on docked.Ron P. wrote:Are your various panels, especially the timeline, floating or docked? Hi
Pressing the quick key F7 on the keyboard should set the workstation to its default layout.
From the menu Settings -- Layout Settings -- Switch to..... should also do the trick.
Or
Press F6 for Preferences (Settings -- Preferences)
Choose the UI Layout tab and select the Default radio button

Re: Timeline View - Show Full Image (not filename)
Your top screenshot is exactly what I'm trying to achieve. When you say you resized your timeline vertically, are you referring to that entire panel or that specific timeline track? If you are referring to the track, how do you resize the specific track vs. the panel? Thank you!Ron P. wrote:Are your various panels, especially the timeline, floating or docked? Re: Timeline View - Show Full Image (not filename)
I'm addressing Ron's suggestion here to resize my timeline...as you can see, it reduced the size of the timeline but I'm still getting the repeating of the thumbnail and the preview window above the timeline is quite large to accommodate the resizing. Any other suggestions? From anyone? I'd really like to fix this issue.
