Question About Saved Template with Photos

Post by SLD123 »

Nature of the problem: I have created a number of user defined templates with photos. I am able to call up these templates for printing within PaintShop Pro X6, noting that the photos magically load into the template (based on my searching, I think they are linked to the template). I can find all the print templates (but not the photos) in the Corel PaintShop Pro directory in my documents.

I have several basic questions:
1. Are the photos linked to saved user defined templates? What if I change the location of the photos on my hard drive (or remove them), will that thus break the link used for the template and not allow the photos to be loaded into the template?
2. Is the loading of photos for each saved template linked to my normal photo location on my hard drive (where I store many photos) or some other directory just for PaintShop Pro?
3. Is there a way to save the template with photos in a format such as *.pdf?
4. Is there a way to save the template with photos contained within the saved file?

Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?) N/A

What devices are involved and their mode of connection? N/A

Project Properties N/A

Output format N/A

Error Codes (if any) N/A

I'm afraid I may have stumped forum members on this one - which surely has stumped me. Does anyone know how to ask this question of Corel without having to pay a service fee to ask the question.

Thanks!!

I haven't used templates with photos for a while but from memory:-

The template is held in "Print Templates" (usually in Corel PaintShop Pro\16.0).
If you edit one of them, with Notepad or WordPad, you can see the content including the ImagePath.
This is where the image is found from and loaded.

If you move or rename an image, you can edit the Template to reflect this.

Tadijo,

Thanks SO MUCH for your guidance, which is right on the mark! Yes, the templates are stored (without photos) as you have remembered. I did just what you recommended, using Notepad to edit a template, and found the image path. I'm glad for this insight, so I now know how the template works vis-a-vis photos "saved" with the template.

Best regards,
