Don't bother with "capture" simply use Windows Explorer to copy the video from your camcorder to your system. Then you can insert the video to the timeline.

If you can see the camcorder click on it so that you can see the files inside - then "Drag and drop" or "copy and paste" if you prefer from the camcorder to a suitable folder on your hard drive.

once they are on your hard drive you can choose from within VideoStudio to import them to a library - or simply insert them in the timeline direct for editing.

I did that copied all the clips onto my drive then imported them into the library on Video Studio, this morning I sat down to compile a video, what do I get? "file mismatch" again I think instead of upgrading to X6 I will look for another program I am fed up with VS

Can you upload a short original camcorder clip to a free web-hosting site or cloud storage from which we can download and test it?

Hi Graham

You said you copied all clips some wont be video files. :(
I assume your camera records AVCHD, within the folder structure is a folder called “Stream”, that folder should contain the video files, maybe Transport Stream, whatever they are the files that should import to video studio.
