Unspecified Error [582:0:0]

Post by Dorn_Fun »

Dear,

i'm a french person used to work with VideoStudio X2.

I've recently buy VideoStudio X6, my version is 16.1.0.45.

When I make a projet that is bigger than the capacity of a DVD, I was used to change the MPEG compression by reducing the "rate of video data" (not sure this is the good translation, sorry).
So I was used to decrease this figure in order that the line green/orange/red has no red, so that the project is able to be burn on a DVD.

But now, in X6, when I change this rate, the line never move, even if I put, for example 1000 kbps.

If I continue without paying intention to that fact, after clicking on "Burn", a window tell me that the project is bigger than the DVD space. If I click on YES in order to the software to change thing to make the project size enough for a DVD, I have an error which can be translate in "Unspecified Error [582:0:0]".

Can anyone help me please ?

Sorry for my poor English and thanks in advance.

Soyez le bienvenu au forum! And don't worry -- your English is excellent...

I assume you are putting a project file in the burning module, and not an actual video, but can you please confirm that? If so, have you thought of first converting your project into a video with a reduced video data rate (or bitrate as we often call it in English)? As a rough guide, you can put around 70 minutes of DVD compatible mpeg-2 using Dolby audio on a single layer DVD using a bitrate of 8000 kbps (highest quality). If the project is around 90 minutes, then reduce the bitrate to 6000 kbps; and if 2 hours then you need to use a bitrate of around 4000 kbps (though the quality with that would be no better than VHS tape).

You then insert that new video in the burning module (instead of a project file) and you should then be able to burn without that error message.

Hi

If you are using a compatible Mpeg2 video file it will not convert to a lower rate unless you deselect the “Do Not Convert MPEG Compatibles”

Deselect and the process will convert the video to use 4000 as set by you, that will allow for 120 minutes of video

However your video is 1hr 30 min, that will require a data rate of approx 6000kbps

Audio

Using Digital Dolby rather than LPCM will also help in reducing the file size and allow you to use a larger date rate, maybe 6500kbps

As Ken suggests you are best to convert/create the video file using the correct data rate then further rendering will not be necessary.

Sorry for the late answer and thank you for your quick answer.

To Ken
In fact i'm using 2 .mod or .mts files (JVC camcorder) (it is in fact the 2 parts of a show) which I cut into approx 15 scenes each.

Each year the show is more than 2 hours and I was used with X2 to reduce the bitrate in order to all the show to but put on one DVD.

To Lara :
I will check this option when I will found time.

Thanks a lot guys !
