sreen capture greyed out

On my first attempt to use X5 I am not able to make a screen capture because after going file-import, the screen capture option(and plug ins) is greyed out.

What I have been doing for screen capture is to use the Print Screen button, then in X6 Edit select menu/edit/paste as new image. I started doing this before I realized there was a menu item for screen capture and it works well for me.

Are the Custom Brush, From Scanner or Camera, and Twain Aquire and Twain Source also greyed out? If so you may have to reset by holding the Shift key down as you launch the program.

It is only screen capture and plug ins that are greyed out, all the others are white

From memory Kenneth, you were using PSP X. Did / does the screen capture work there ?
Have you installed youtr PSP X on your Win 7 machine and tested the screen capture there?
I have just tested and the Screen capture still works on all versions of PSP and on XP and on Win7 with the X6 32 and X6 64 bit versions.

I am actually using X5 Pro Ultimate.That is also installed on an old XP laptop 32 bit (with a another set of discs for the same prog- bought it then was given another box set)I am getting exactly the same prob on the XP laptop- the option to import is greyed out along with plug ins and the other options are white.

Yes Kenneth, I know you are using PSP X5 now. But in this thread

you were using PSPX.
My question was asking you if you have that still installed and is the same problem occurring in that version. If so then it may be some problem with your system.

If your PSP X allows screen capture then it may mean there is a problem with your installation of PSP X5.

Is your PSPX5 version from a disc or a download version?

I mentioned in my last post “then was given another box set” so that means both versions I have are from discs and not downloads. I will reinstall PSPRo X and see if it shows the same fault if you think it is necessary but I thought as both box set discs are showing the same problem in 2 different PCs with different operating systems this must prove something .I wonder if they is any point inreinstallingX5?

With PSP X5 active try pressing Shift C and see if that does anything.
