I have just noticed something that I would like an answer to! ASAP soon.
I'm using PSPx6. I have PSP's colour management unchecked. ie off.
I have a picture of mine on my desk top. Been using the same one for years.
I have just noticed than when I start PSPx6 for the first time after starting the computer, the picture flickers and changes colour. Not much but it becomes darker and slightly more saturated. Why?
As a test I have started the computer and run several programs before starting PSPx6. No change until I start PSPx6. I can close PSPx6 and the picture remains as PSPx6 changed it. I can then run different programs and the picture remains as PSPx6 changed it. It's not until I close down the computer and restart it that I see the picture in its original state. Stays that way until I start PSPx6.
I use QImage for printing. If I go straight to QImage I get the 'correct' colour. If I first start PSPx6 then go to QImage I get a slightly darker and more saturated picture.
So what is PSPx6 doing to my display? I have calibrated the monitor. Is PSPx6/Corel somehow overwriting my colour/calibration?
Help. I need to get the colours I see in PSPx6 the same as what I'm getting in QImage.

Re: PSPx6 and colour management
Just to add. I can live with the slight colour change provided I always start PSPx6 before doing anything else. As the change 'sticks' until I turn the computer off. But just the same I would like to know what's going on.

Re: PSPx6 and colour management
Under Preferences/Color management, is PSP using the same monitor profile file as your monitor is using at startup? Since you calibrate your monitor I assume it is using the file generated by the calibration program.

Re: PSPx6 and colour management
I now have it working 'normally'. Seems that somehow PSPx6 was ignoring my calibrated settings and using PSPx6 Color Management. QImage was telling me my default/custom colour management/calibration had changed. So I went back into PSPx6 and re set the colour management. Still nothing happened. But then I reloaded my custom work space and everything started working again!!!!
No idea how or why but just something to be aware of.
