PSP x6: entering vector text, characters are hidden

Post by JMW1937 »

When I try to enter vector text on a .pspimage, the first few characters don't appear. If I look at the vector layer only, they are there, but if I make the background visible as well, they disappear. Also, it seems vey difficult to select the text for editing (i.e. greyed, instead of in a selection box).

Please advise.

Silly question, but have you got the text layer above the image layer?
it makes no difference if the image is a .pspimage of anything else, the text is on it's own layer :-)

Also look at the Help Files under Text, creating text.
To edit the text, open the vector layer, click on the tiny triangle to show the text layer.
Double click on the text layer, which will generate the cursor on the text itself, from there you can delete or whatever.
Using the Text Tool takes a bit of getting used to, but it works ok, although I miss the old text box.

If Joelle's suggestions don't solve the problem and you are using PSP X6, the fact you don't see the first few characters could be due to a bug in the program. If you are zoomed in on the text the program seems to be slow in redrawing. I have found that if I zoom out the characters appear and I can then zoom back in to continue what I was doing. It was very disconcerting at first.

And if you want the "old" style text box...

To Add text in a box hold down the Shift key while clicking and to Edit text again hold the Shift key when the [T] symbol appears and click.
