Stop Motion webcam question

Post by racreel »

I am attempting to use VideoStudio for stop motion with my Microsoft Lifecam webcam. The camera works fine in the software, but I can find no way to access the webcam properties from VideoStudio. I need to get to the properties to set exposure, etc, and especially manual focus.

Is there any way to access the webcam properties dialog from within VideoStudio? It is accessible from most softwares that use the webcam.

Thanks!

There does not seem to be a way to access the webcam properties from within VS, I use a Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 webcam and what I do is to open Stop Motion then when the webcam has been detected, I then open Logitech click on the Webcam Properties box, then I can then change all the settings as required and view the results in VS as I make changes.

This is a real shortcoming in VideoStudio, any software that uses the webcam should give access to its properties.

The software that comes with the Lifecam won't allow what you suggested, it always has it's capture window open, so VideoStudio won't access the webcam. I did find a workaround. I downloaded Yawcam and it will let me close it's capture window, but still access the properties. So it works with VideoStudio as you suggested.

If anyone else needs to do this, you can get it at http://www.yawcam.com/

Thanks.
