No menu when starting the BD disc

Post by Wim Kok »

Burned two films on a BD-RE and used a menu template as I was used to do with SD films when burning a DVD.
The BD-RE played fine on my Sony Blu-Ray player and started with the menu. When I play this disc again on the
burner/player in my computer with which I created this disc, the first film starts immediately.
So, no menu pops up. This is quite different from my experiences when burning a DVD.
What might be the reason? Wim

Hi

It is highly probable that your Media Player does not support BD Menus.

There are a few media players that will show the menu content, I tried these:-

Corel Win DVD Pro 11
Total Media Theatre
DVDFab Media Player

Hi lata,
you were right, WinDVD does the job. But it's weird that WMP, MPC and VLC refuse to read the menu's.
Thanks and cheers, Wim

I think even Cyberlink's PowerDVD can't play the BD menus either -- at least earlier versions of it since I haven't used it since version 10... Personally, I use DVDFab Media Player...
