Flickr upload failure

Post by dgiancasp »

I am using PSP X6 and when I go to share a photo to flickr I get an error that reads "failed to access social network service". This is just recent and I have no idea how to fix this. Anyone else have this issue? Any help on how to fix this? I can upload to facebook with no problems.

Do you have a Flickr account? If so, check the URL PSP is trying to upload to.

flickr keeps changing things. Other times they will have issues with one specific server or group of servers and some will have problems while others won't. I've found it best to just use the website.

I do have a flickr account and it was working just fine. But all of a sudden it stopped working. Where do I go to confirm the right URL?

I looked at the flickr help forum and there's a few threads there about PSP not uploading to flickr anymore. None were resolved that I saw. As I stated before, flickr keeps changing things. Constantly. Yep, it worked before but now it doesn't. Yep, we get that. Just use the webpage or an uploader app (until that breaks too). Things constantly changing, and breaking because of it, are a constant gripe on the flickr help forums. There's not much we can do about it. flickr completely ignores most of the complaints.

Make sure that you're signed in to flickr on Internet Explorer. That's what PSP uses for the upload.

I am having the exact same issue with Google+. only recently.

Is anyone from Corel remotely interested in helping their customers?

Have you tried logging in to Flikr or Google+ direct (outside of any programme) - They have both made some changes to the e-mail requirements lately - it seems I cannot log in to Flikr at all with my previous credentials - because apparently my e-mail provider is no longer "associated" with Yahoo and when I try to create a new account it insist that I create a Yahoo e-mail address in order to do so.

Google+ is now only happy if I access it with a gmail account.

Check first if you can log in direct from your browser.

I don't understand at all what Corel has to do with it. This is about either Flickr or Google+ and the handling of files in those applications.

Although I signed up in 2008, I rarely use Flickr but tried it just now to see what the issue is and had no problems. I use PSP to edit my photos and store as JPGs. After signing in to Flickr I used drag and drop from windows explorer to upload a photo. Then used upload whereby Flickr opens an explorer window and I choose which file to upload.

I regularly use albums in what was Picasa and now is Google+. To create an album online I work with Picasa on my computer, then select the photos and use the "Share on Google+" button to create the album. Seems straightforward. I have a link to a Picasa album that I use to get to Picasa online which I prefer to Google+ for working with the album.
I tried uploading photos using "share" - I've never tried that before. X6 could not connect to either Flickr of Google+. Appears that something changed since the program was issued. There was no problem connecting using share in X7. And the fallback (my preference) is to go directly to either of these sites. I don't have gmail and had no problems connecting to Google+. Am I just lucky?
