Inserting Chinese Character Text

Post by dsho »

Hey Ya!

I tried inserting Chinese Characters that I copied from a Word document but it appears as "???" in the title. Trying to include some "subtitles" to the clip I am working on.

Any clues?

I found a couple of topics in here. Someone suggested images which is a fix but I am looking for a "direct" way to input.

Many thanks in advance and hope my explaination is clear enough.

ULead VideoStudio 9
Windows XP Home
MSOffice 2003

are the foreign language characters showing up as ??? in the title track or the actual video? Reason I ask is the VS will show print characters such as the ampersand (&) and others as question marks and underscores in the title track, but the actual characters appear OK on the video.

Since Ulead is based in Taiwan, and there are Chinese-language versions of Ulead products, I would assume that the characters will show up correctly if the proper font and codepage are used. Probably the most reliable method of entering these characters would be the Windows IME (Input Method Editor).

As erock1 said, a font that doesn't contain the characters you are trying to paste into the title will show up as question marks or boxes.
