I purchased VideoStudio Pro X6 recently, and have been generally happy with its easy of use and performance on my Sony VAIO laptop. I am exlusively editing footage shot with my GoPro Hero3+ attached to my Phantom 2 drone. Several times now I have experienced the following problem:
1) create a project using .mp4 clips shot at 1080p 60fps. insert cross fades and one black title box at beginning, fade to black at end. Nothing fancy.
2) save project
3) Share / Create Video File / Same as First Video Clip (.mp4, 1920 x 1080 @ 60fps, etc.)
4) successfully renders .mp4 file
5) Windows Media Player starts okay on the rendered .mp4, but a few seconds into the video, the image goes complete Technicolor garbage, with broad color bands diagonally from SW to NE. also, direct seek by clicking on the timeline results in a Windows Media Player error with the ever-so-helpful error message "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file."
6) If I repeat the above sequence, but use MPEG4 1920 x 1080 (which apparently defaults to 30fps) the resultant .mp4 plays fine, including direct seek throughout the video. Unfortunately 30fps not as crisp as the 60fps.
Any ideas?

Re: Rendering problem with MPEG4 on Windows 7 using VS X6
Hi Kelly
Welcome to the forums
Hmmm
How does it play using QuickTime Player or Windows Media Classic?
From Settings have you enabled 50/60 editing
OK—Smart Render
From 3) Share / Create Video File / Same as First Video Clip
Choose the Options button and deselect Smart Render, then continue to save, does that improve things?
I do not have GoPro Hero but think Ken does, he will probably comment on this?
