ok, so I have decided to buy a new graphics tablet (wacom pen & toch) for use with PSP and other applications, but for some reason, I can't figure out how to get it working.
I assumed because it was USB, it was just plug and play, but apparently not, at least not for me anyway. I've had a look in the program settings, and maybe I'm overlooking something, because I can't seem to find anything relating to graphics tablets.
any help would be appreciated, thanks.

If Windows does not download and install the drivers itself the tablet should have come with its own CD for installing the drivers. If it didn't you can download the drivers from Wacon's site.
Once the drivers are installed you should be able to use it.

it came with a software CD that only has drivers on it, no proprietary software by the looks of it.skier-hughes wrote:Does it come with it's own programme?

the drivers did install, and after a 3rd reboot, it seems to work, however, it seems a bit clunky. there also doesn't seem to be any pressure sensitivityLeviFiction wrote:If Windows does not download and install the drivers itself the tablet should have come with its own CD for installing the drivers. Try turning off Windows Tablet features.
From your Control Panel go to Uninstall Programs and Features.
On the side bar select "Turn WIndows Features on or off"
A dialog will pop up, deselect "Tablet PC Components"
Hit OK and wait a couple of minutes as the features are disabled
------
Sometimes the built in stuff in Windows gets in the way of Wacom's stuff.
If that doesn't work, contact Wacom.

Re: new graphics tablet: can't get it working
I found there is a 'trick' to the Wacom and PSP!
In Preferences/General Program Preferences - Miscellaneous - make sure you have Disable pressure support .... checked. Yeah it doesn't make sense.
Each time you select a tool/brush check Palettes/Brush Variance. You may find your tool setting Size on 'Pressure'. Change it to 'Normal'.
With Pressure you simply may not see any results. By changing it to 'Normal' you will get results based on your brush settings. You can always return to 'Pressure' later on.

Re: new graphics tablet: can't get it working
If all of the above doesn't work you may want to make sure that your drivers are all up to date. Wacom's website offers updates from time to time. I found that I had to reinstall the driver (just run the driver install program) after opening PSP first. If I shut down PSP then ran it again I'd have to do the same thing again. Not sure why, and I rarely use the tablet any more so I never wrote Corel about it.
